“Sun-bleached bones were most wonderful against the blue- that blue that will always be there as it is now after all man’s destruction is finished.”

Georgia O’ Keefe

I have always intuitively found inspiration in the subtle displays that nature presents. During a walk in the pine forests above Habbele, Bozcaada, I found the remains of an animal.

It glowed white against the roughness of the tree trunk. Looking at the permanent remains of death I found new life. The shapes suggested a renewal and recreation of life, the initial ideas for the collection began to emerge.

“Art picks up where nature ends”

Marc Chagall
